How-to-Tuesday: Irish Soda Bread Favors

12 Mar

My Irish Mother just emailed to tell me me she took the last loaf of Irish Soda Bread out of the oven to cool....just cruel!   Mom lives in Florida, moi in Chicago.   Will not get my fix this year.

Anyway, reminded me to to share this darling idea from a recent hostess and repeat client Kiersten. She is throwing a Lucky in Love Bridal Shower for an Irish Bride this weekend and guests will take home mini Irish Soda Breads.  *Sigh*  Too cute.  If you can't make minis, or are just planning to skip the baking altogether and grab a loaf at the store, try cutting just nice healthy sized slices.  Enjoy my How-To below!

1. Bake a delicious Irish Soda Bread (I can't help you here, but my Mom could!) OR BUY.
2. Cut your soda bread into nice healthy portions for one.
3. Slide them each into their own clear cello bag.
4. Tie off with some green & white baker's twine like this one from Divine Twine.
5. **Important** Take a break from party planning to enjoy a slice yourself (quality testing of course).
6. Affix one of our Lucky in Love Shamrock stickers complete with our custom shamrock background!
XOXO

Inspiration: Emerald Green Color of the Year!

3 Feb

Last month Pantone picked the Color of the Year 2013 as Emerald Green and now it can be seen everywhere..from inside homes to staring in weddings!  It is such a rich color. A green+gold pairing is classic and luxurious.  And emerald green paired with other green shades gives a really elegant, unique, organic look. A few photos below to inspire.  The Sweet, the Sane (a few option to work emerald green into your life!) and just a little insanity - stunning runway dresses from Ellie Saab, and that ring from the ring/earring combo Angelina Jolie wore a few years ago!

A Pink & Green Bachelorette Weekend!

29 Jun

Had the pleasure of designing a Bachelorette Party recently and was thrilled to receive pictures on how it all turned out!  The girls trip was held at a resort in Arizona with plenty of relaxing IN (bubbles in the room) as well as adventuring OUT (kayaking in the mountains!)

The maid of honor ordered a custom printable party pack designed for a spread in the hotel room for snacking all weekend long! We used the bride's wedding colors of watermelon pink and limey green. The great thing about printables is that you can print, carry with you in your suitcase and assemble once you are there..

Sarah's Journey of Love was the theme but a fun twist emerged titling everything we could think of... "The Room", "The Salty", "The Sweets".... even "the Advil" waiting in the bathroom in case of too much bubbly!

A white fluffy robe for the bride got a 'Relax In' tag and
the weekend itinerary explained all about the Adventures Out!

From what I understand the wedding is this weekend so Congrats Sarah!!!
And credit to the MOH Elle for the great setup and fabulous pics!  ~ XOXO

Lindsay and Martin’s Botanical Design Sticker

30 Mar

Lindsay and Martin picked the 'Botanical Design' with it's winding leaves and branches for their favor sticker.  Their colors are Fuschia and Apple. This is one of my favorite designs for summer weddings!  Thanks Lindsay!

I was beyond excited to receive these stickers and they did not disappoint. I have to stay away from this shop because I love it so much and Kerry is fabulous!

Sweet Stickies in Shades of Green!

  • Anna & Christine used the Elegant Filigree Design for Welcome / Thank You Stickies.
  • Kendra used the Love Sweet Love with Filigree Design for her favor stickers.
  • Laurel and Holly chose the Butterfly Thoughts design.
  • And Jenny used the Botanical Design for her Homemade Jam jar labels!

“Spread The Love” Stickers for Wedding Rhubarb Jam!

8 Jun

It is that time of year for rhubarb jam which I happen to love love love! Barb adapted these stickies from the Botanical Leaves Design in both round and oval for her wedding favor canning jars.  We changed up the phrases to be used for both the lid and the side of the jar.  Thanks Barb!

You were FAB! Creative, fast, and a good communicator. Super experience.

Jeff and Jennie’s Nautical Wedding!

27 May

Babyanchor Back from Ms. J's (now Mrs. P's!) wedding in Maryland! Have no words. (Ok, maybe a few) It was beautiful, sentimental, elegant, carefree, scrumptious and amazingly fun all at the same time. And needless to say, the details were the clincher for me.
Yet again goes to show that with a couple of great colors and a great theme the creativity can be ENDLESS! They did a fantastic job, and I must say it was a thrill  to see some of my itsy-bitsy details in the mix. Thought I'd try to encapsulate the feel as well as some of the details I worked on...

Not only were the Welcome Bags scrumptious but the guests were greeted by her nautical theme right from the get go! We did two kinds of stickies for her bags, as well as a graphic monogram for her welcome information letter.

 Jennie's Nautical Wedding Stickies

And once you arrived at the wedding site the navy and kelly green theme just enveloped you. More fun details I got to work on;  the table numbers with a nautical compass background, and perhaps our favorite (Ms. J & I squealed like teenagers about this one!) ~ the menus.
Now the couple is off of Portugal! Bon Voyage!
